Solar Panels performance in April 2025

Well well well, April turned out to be some month for solar pv production. While I was out there enjoying the great weather my solar panels where pumping.  I generated 672 kWh of power during April. That is the best I have done for April in the four years I have had panels on my house.  I see on online that others in Ireland did just as well if not better in a lot of cases. I live in sunny Monaghan but I can imagine people along the East Cost did better as they generallly get more sun. That 672

What is the Photovoltaic Geographical Information System

The Photovoltaic Geographical Information System (PVGIS) is a free online tool developed by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC). It provides detailed information and tools to estimate the solar energy potential and performance of photovoltaic (PV) systems at specific locations around the world. Key Features of PVGIS: 🌍 Global Coverage: Offers solar radiation and PV performance data for almost all regions worldwide, with particularly high-resolution data for Europe, Africa, and Asia. ☀️ Solar Irradiation Data: Provides monthly and yearly average solar irradiation values based on historical weather data. ⚡ PV Performance Simulation: Allows users to estimate electricity generation from

Solar Panels Ireland Cost

A typical solar panel installation cost in Ireland for an average house in 2025 will end up costing in the range of €5,000–€8,000.  This price has factored in grants from The SEAI. These upfront figures have a payback period in the order of 6–7 years, a notable improvement from a decade ago when paybacks were 10+ years Solar Panel Cost Ireland Estimations for 2025 Let’s take a broader look at Solar PV pricing in Ireland. In 2025,  our research shows installing solar panels on an Irish home generally costs from €3,200 to €15,600, depending on system size and setup.  Grants

Are solar panels worth it in Ireland?

Are solar panels worth it in Ireland? It’s a frequently asked question. Considering a solar panel in the south of Spain receives over twice the solar irradiance we do here in Ireland: How much do you need for it to be a worthwhile investment? The short answer is that most homes in Ireland do receive enough solar energy – light is sufficient, it doesn’t need to be direct sunlight – to make it a worthwhile investment. And that’s before the environmental benefits are factored in. For the longer answer, please read on… How much electricity will solar panels generate? This
